THE HERMOSA INN: Upcoming Events


Built originally as Lon Megargee’s home and art studio, The Hermosa Inn continues its artistic legacy with its Spring Palette to Palate, a two-day art and culinary retreat designed to awaken the senses, soothe the spirit and create picture perfect memories to last a lifetime. Guests can craft their own palette by choosing from an array of unique events, including workshops led by nationally acclaimed artists and a culinary celebration: #UnmistakablyArizona Spring Harvest Dinner, highlighting a collaboration of Arizona’s premier culinary talent, produce and wine.

With workshops beginning Saturday, April 6th, guests have the freedom to select one class, or all, priced at just $85 each, to create days perfectly suited to their liking. Participants do not need to be registered hotel guests, but should they choose to make a weekend out of it, rates begin at $381 per night, with a prepaid-advance purchase reservation for overnight accommodations in one of 43 luxury casitas.

Executive Chef Jeremy Pacheco welcomes award-winning Arizona vintner, Sam Pillsbury, for a five-course dinner that celebrates Arizona farming with a menu inspired by Sam’s family recipes, paired perfectly with Pillsbury Wines.

‘FOCUS ON FOOD’ PHOTOGRAPHY CLASS & BRUNCH WITH CHRISTINA BARRUETA

Award-winning food, beverage and travel writer, Christina Barrueta, shares tips and tricks for photographing food with either an Apple or Android phone. Learn to prop, prep and play with plates of food created by Executive Chef Jeremy Pacheco to create drool-worthy images as seen in Christina’s social media and her Write on Rubee website, which was recently voted ‘Favorite Local Food Blog/Website’ by Arizona Foothills Magazine. Class fee includes brunch, mimosa, dessert, instruction, gratuity and taxes.

JOURNALING – ART AND OBSERVATION SERIES: FLOWERS IN THE FIELDS

rom first-timers to experienced artists, local artist and illustrator Devon Meyer will unlock participants’ creativity and hone their observations skills as she awakens them to the intricacy of nature, focusing on how to capture posture, proportion, angles, traits and color while sketching and painting birds of the Southwest. Devon will provide personalized step-by-step instruction throughout the workshop to include sketching and drawing techniques, watercolor skills, and tips on how to use the vivid light and hues of the day. The Journaling - Art and Observation series is presented in partnership with Scottsdale Artists School www.scottsdaleartschool.org Class fee includes instruction, all supplies, wine and appetizers.
