Arizona Foodie was cooked up: March 2014
The recipe of Arizona Foodie.
Founder and main eater, Diana Brandt, had always had a passion for food. When her friends began to complain about all her food pictures filling up their social feed, she decided to create a Instagram account devoted just to pictures of food. Thus AZFoodie was whipped up. At a food event not too long after, it was suggested that a blog be put into action. Everything else was baked up shortly after from Facebook to Twitter and everything in between. That my friends, was the start of breaking bread around town.
Arizona Foodie was ready for eating!
After the creation of the blog and Facebook, Arizona Foodie began to take off with a huge bang. Local people really loved following our food outings and began to like us at a fast rate and it still hasn't slowed down after these few years. Diana started Arizona Foodie as a way to showcase the growing food scene around the Valley. Her goal was to show the passion these Chefs had for their food and to share it with others.
Arizona Foodie has since grown into a large hub of like-minded foodies with over 97% of our followers located in Phoenix and the surrounding cities. We have over 34,000 followers on FB, over 40,000 followers on Instagram, 20,000 page views a month, 2400+ followers on Twitter and over 6,000 people on our email list. We launched the Arizona Foodie Magazine in March of 2017, 3 short years after the start of everything. We also re-launched our website to become a visual guide and searchable resource.
Arizona Foodie continues to be a place where people can find some of the best places new and old spots to eat at. Diana has been nominated for Food Writer of the Year, won best food blog by Phoenix Magazine, has been featured on Good Morning Arizona multiple times, Sonoran Living and other TV shows. She has also been featured on the Cooking Channel as a judge, featured in Travel & Leisure, USA Today 10 Best, TIME, and many more outlets. Diana also started hosting different events, which included Arizona Foodie Pop-Up Demos with local Chefs and AZ Foodie VIP Happy Hours to connect local restaurants with local foodie followers. She has been a guest judge for the Arizona Taco Festival, Dish It Out and many other festival.
