Event: 7 Chefs for Kids

The Valley’s top culinary movers and shakers are joining forces with Phoenix Children’s Hospital Foundation on Saturday, October 6 to host “7 Chefs for Kids” at Phoenix’s Anchor Centre.

Among the 16 chefs participating are original members of the “Arizona Seven” including Chefs Stephen Jones, who recently opened the doors to downtown’s The larder + the delta; Scott Holmes of Little Miss BBQ; Bernie Kantak of The Gladly and Citizen Public House; and Gio Osso of Virtú Honest Craft and Nico’s Heirloom Kitchen. Joining the 4th annual event for the first time this year are Chefs Doug Robson of Otro Café and Gallo Blanco; Michael Mahalick of Peoria Artisan Brewery, Bob Tam of Bitter & Twisted; Brent Kille of Low Key Dining; and Juan Zamora of Chula Seafood. Brew master Dustin Hazer of Helio Basin Brewing Co. will provide craft brew samples.

7 Chefs for Kids is an annual collaboration between the Valley’s top culinary masters and Emerging Leaders, a select group of professionals dedicated to advancing the mission of Phoenix Children’s Hospital through community engagement and philanthropy. Since the start of the partnership, the annual event has raised nearly $100,000 for various programs at Phoenix Children’s. This year’s sponsors include Taylor Farms, Stifel, Pearl Capital Management, Professional Equity Management, Brighton Jones, MRA Associates, CMOC, Perkins Coie, Olsson Associates, Willie Itule Produce, and Seventh Generation Capital.

“We’re doing what we love to do,” said Jones. “Being able to partner with a wonderful organization like Phoenix Children’s Hospital and cook food for the community while we’re at it is what we absolutely love to do.”

“The event has grown substantially in the four short years we have partnered together,” said Jenna Biancavilla, President of Emerging Leaders. “We are incredibly grateful to all of the participating chefs and our generous sponsors for making this amazing event possible, and for supporting the courageous patients and families at Phoenix Children’s.”
