30th Birthday Bash & 4th of July

Not only is my one of my top resorts having its 30th birthday bash but they'll also be hosting my favorite 4th of July celebration!

The Fairmont Scottsdale Princess is celebrating its past 30 years and the next with its Summer Splash Birthday Bash, a cool mix of throw-back, decade-themed pool parties, combined with all-new experiences, making this the play-cation destination every weekend through Labor Day.

Summer Splash Birthday Bash Activities

Cool pools are front and center and this AAA Five Diamond resort has six, from it largest and newest pool - Sunset Beach - with 830 tons of white sand, to the 200-foot twisting waterslides at Sonoran Splash. The Princess was the first Valley resort to debut Dive In movies and 30 years later, this family-favorite tradition continues. Over on Sunset Beach, Mermaid University is back splashing up fin-tastic fun for kids ages 7-12 with resident mermaid, Moon, and her sea sister, Misty Mermaid. New this summer, grown-ups can join the fun at the Mermaids & Mai Tai’s class, offered the first Saturday of every month at Well & Being Spa’s rooftop pool. The new Funergy Team entertains with high-energy poolside games and music from the ‘80s, ‘90s and 2000s, while other pools are more relaxing for adults. At the Concierge, kids can choose their favorite pair of sunglasses as a birthday gift from the giant birthday box at children’s check-in.

The Future is Now

The Princess is blasting fun into the future with Techno Glo pool parties with fog, lasers, LED hula hoops and DJ Splash, and new this year are the interactive Techno-Bot siblings, Beta and Blast. Trailblazers Kids Club and Recreation Center is featuring a new BEAM interactive floor playground and virtual reality adventures. Guests can ride on a roller coaster or glide above the clouds in an immersive, virtual reality 3D simulator, which are complimentary at the Kids Club. Classic games, billiards, ping-pong, shuffle board and arts and crafts are also available in this family-friendly fun zone on Friday and Saturdays from 5pm – 9pm.

Fairmont Friends to Meet and Greet

Upon arrival, guests are greeted by the resort’s new Techno-Bot siblings, Beta and Blast, along with Bixby and Gibbs, the Princess’ adoring canine ambassadors. Another favorite friend is Cecil, the resort’s desert tortoise in his habitat near Canyon Lawn/La Hacienda. At the lagoons, nature walks and fishing derbies are fun with Ranger Rick, who introduces families to the flora and fauna of the Southwest. At the Feathered Friends of Fairmont Hawk Talk, guests can meet and learn about the resort’s resident hawks and falcons from expert handlers of Sonoran Desert Falconry.

Top Resort Experiences for Grown-Ups

Adults looking to relax and unwind can find sanctuary at Well & Being Spa with a number of rejuvenating treatments or try something new like Float Fit paddleboard yoga at the rooftop pool. Golfers can play like a pro at the TPC Scottsdale in the resort’s own backyard. Curated wine and spirit tastings are unique with resort experts such as the Tequila Goddess at La Hacienda, Rum Princesa at Toro Latin Restaurant & Rum Bar or the wine sommelier at Bourbon Steak, with pairings to fresh summer menus by renowned chefs.

Celebrating Summer Holidays

Fireworks light up every Saturday night all summer long with extended displays on holiday weekends. Fourth of July Freedom Fest celebrates America, June 30-July 4, with concerts on the Lagoon Lawn by the Spazmatics playing music of the ‘80s (July 2), Drive a contemporary country band (July 3) and MJ Live, a Michael Jackson tribute band (July 4), along with parachutists and vintage air show (July 4). Then, as summer sails into the sunset, Fairmont Scottsdale’s Labor Day Dreamcation weekend (September 1-4) waves bon voyage with a cruise ship theme, this year with Cuban flair including tastes of Havana poolside, cigar rolling and vintage cars on display.

Vacation Values

The Summer Splash Birthday Bash Package starts from $169 per night with a $50 daily credit now through September 4, 2017. Overnight stays with the resort fee of $30 also includes complimentary half-day admission to the Trailblazers Kids Club for up to three children ages 5-12.

Special $30 Summer Experiences

What would a birthday party be without gifts? Guests can take advantage of additional birthday offers such as discounted $30 upgrades per room category and signature experiences for only $30 at resort restaurants and Well & Being Spa to make their stay unforgettable and affordable. The celebratory specials include two Bloody Marys and Brazilian French Toast for brunch at Toro, a signature cocktail and watermelon guacamole at La Hacienda, a wagyu cheeseburger and beer at Bourbon Steak, Sundown Saturdays at The Plaza Bar with music and cocktail samplings or a shampoo/blow dry or express manicure at the spa. The TPC Scottsdale is offering a $30 weekday special for unlimited play all day on the Champions Course, Monday – Thursday through August (plus $2 basin fee and tax).

30 Years, 30 Nights Giveaway

All summer long, guests can submit their favorite photo moments from the Princess over the last 30 years – the older, the better - to win a one-night stay including a $100 resort credit. 30 winners will be selected after Labor Day for a future stay through the end of 2018 (blackout dates apply).

The Fairmont Scottsdale Princess is unfurling its 7th annual 4th of July Freedom Fest, featuring a vintage air show, three tribute band concerts, five nights of fireworks, all-American fare, military tributes and poolside fun, with vacation packages benefitting military families, June 30-July 4, 2017. While celebrating America’s birthday, the Princess is also celebrating its 30th birthday with the Summer Splash Birthday Bash every summer weekend through Labor Day.

Saluting Heroes & Vintage Air Shows

Saluting America’s heroes, the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess will host a vintage air show July 4, where 30 vintage military aircraft that flew in World War II, Korea and in Vietnam will fly over the resort, piloted by retired veterans. The air show concludes with a military parachutist from the All Veterans Parachute Team soaring through the skies and landing with American and military flags. Miniature flags will be provided to guests on the ground to cheer on the crews. At the Trailblazers Kids Club, veterans will meet with kid campers.

Fairmont Freedom Fest Tribute Concerts & Fireworks

Revelers can dance and celebrate with live music under the stars at the Princess Lagoon Lawn. The Freedom Fest tribute concerts, with a patriotic introduction and fireworks intermission, are complimentary for overnight guests or those dining in La Hacienda, Bourbon Steak, Toro Latin Restaurant & Rum Bar or Ironwood American Kitchen.

Patriotic, Poolside!

Celebrating America, poolside is the place to be. Sunset Beach is the resort’s newest and largest pool, a 7,000 sq. ft. paradise at the Princess with 830 tons of soft, chilled white sand, splash pad, glamorous cabanas and swimming with mermaids. At the 6,000 square-foot Sonoran Splash pool complex, families can have a ball racing down 200-foot waterslides, while the Funergy Team is on deck leading games with music from DJ Splash.

Red, white and blue frozen drinks and watermelon eating contests round-out the fun. At night, the Sonoran Splash pool transforms into the Techno Glo Party, with fog, lasers and LED hula hoopers. Not to miss are the resort’s newest friends and robot siblings, Techno-Bots Beta and Blast, who are celebrating the resort’s 30th birthday, blasting into the future.

4th of July Vacation Packages Benefit Military Charities

The summer’s popular Summer Splash Birthday Bash Package includes a $50 daily resort credit that can be applied toward spa, dining or Trailblazer’s Kids Club. During the 4th of July Freedom Fest, this vacation package starts from $199 per night on week nights and $209 on weekends, plus taxes, parking and a daily $30 resort fee. Military families may book a special 25 percent off the best available room rate that weekend, based upon availability with their military ID.
