It’s almost December, and the holidays are a’coming. If you’re starting to panic or struggling with present ideas for friends and family, we’ve got you covered. Frances is a staple on the local shopping scene. The charming boutique is helmed by owner Georgeanne Bryant and offers a variety of unique items like jewelry, clothing and home essentials. There’s also a significant focus on Arizona-themed gifts. Additionally, every Saturday up until Christmas, Frances will host a holiday market from noon to 4 p.m. with local makers selling their goods in the front of the store. Speaking of holiday markets featuring local artisans, check out the 2020 Socially Distanced Holiday Market on Grand Avenue taking place on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. until just before Christmas. Vendors will take turns every week showing off their wares, from paper goods to jewelry, flowers, pet portraits and more. Masks are required for all attendees, and you can find the market in the parking lot for Bragg’s Pie Factory. If you get down to Tucson or live there, stop by Tucson Botanical Gardens. While the beautiful gardens are obviously the main attraction, the gift shop on your way out is not to be missed, and it houses goods and art from many local artisans and businesses. There’s a wide array of garden items, clothes, kitchen goods, books, fun and educational toys and more. Each purchase supports the programs and missions of the Tucson Botanical Gardens, so that’s bound to make you feel good too. The Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix is also known for its gift shop where you can purchase items like seeds, prickly pear, cactus-themed water bottles and tea towels, vases and tote bags. For your loved ones that enjoy food, the Sphinx Date Co. is a great place to check out. Not only does the shop have a plethora of different types of dates (which can be purchased on their own or as part of a gift tray or box), there are pantry items from various Arizona food makers in the form of hot sauce, honey, beans, spices, chocolate, wine and more.
