Six Places To Stuff Yourself on National Burrito Day

April 1st may be April Fools Day but don't make the foolish mistake of missing out on National Burrito Day! Rolled, smothered and stuffed to maximum proportions, we'll take a burrito ant way we can get 'em!

Here are six places to stuff your faces with a good burrito. (P.S. This isn't a best list, just a simple compilation of some places to get great burros. Yes, we know there are so many more places out there, so please send us your suggestions).

Rudy's Burritos

This Mesa mainstay has been serving up authentic Mexican grub for over ten years. You'll find a solid breakfast menu, tacos and combo meals, but we say go for one of the burrito options! Feast on the Super Burrito full of Carne Asada, whole beans, pico, avocado and cheese! We highly advise getting it enchilada-style for a buck fifty more and having it smothered in your choice of red or green sauce and topped with shredded cheese. Rudy's Burrito is located at 9221 E Baseline Road, Mesa, AZ 85209. www.rudysburrito.com

Carolina's

Carolina's claims to have the best tortillas in town...and who are we to argue? Their tortillas are awesome. For decades they have been serving up some pretty amazing Mexican grub and you won't find a bad thing on the menu, but we're partial to the green chili beef burros, wrapped up in those famous tortillas. Carolina's has three valley locations. Visit www.carolinasmexicanfood.com for the one closest to you.

Rito's

The Three Way burritos from Rito's is legendary...and massive. It's got red chili, green chili, and refried beans wrapped up in a soft flour tortilla. It's a knife and fork burrito and you will have leftovers. We highly suggest going all out and making it a chimichanga enchilada-style and have it deep fried to golden perfection then smothered in sauce and cheese. You won't regret that decision. There are three Rito's locations, Central Phoneix, South Phoenix and Surprise. Check the website for details. www.ritosmexicanfood.com

Sergio's Kitchen

Ok, so you won't be able to get one of Sergio's burritos on National Burrito Day because they are only available on Saturdays and Wednesdays at the Uptown Farmer's Market – but don't let that stop you! Sergio's serves up what we believe to be the best breakfast burritos in town. Opt for the chorizo and egg with refried beans, pico and feta cheese; it's our favorite and one bite will tell you why. Get there early to snag one because his food sells out regularly. Uptown Farmer's Market is open Wednesdays 9am-12pm and Saturdays 8am-1pm. It's located at Bethany and Central Avenue.

Bonita's

We have two favorites at the west valley gem. The Arizona Burrito is filled your choice of carne asada (grilled beef) or pollo asado (grilled chicken), pico, guac and french fries and the Big Booty Burrito stuffed with choice of carne asada, pollo asado or carnitas and green or red sauce, rice and beans. Both options are hefty and sharable! Bonitas is located at 4920 W. Thunderbird Road, Glendale, 85306. www.bonitasphx.com

Tacos Jalisco (pictured above)

It doesn't get much more authentic than Tacos Jalisco and you'll find a nice selection of burrito fillings. Of course you can get the usual (and delicious) basics like carne asada, carnitas, fajitas de pollo, al pastor, chorizo and carnitas or you can spice it up a little and opt for lengua (beef tongue) or tripas (beef tripe). We can't say enough about the chile relleno burrito, so cheesy with delightful heat! Whatever you choose it's gonna be muy delicioso! Tacos Jalisco is located at 3060 N. 68th Street, Scottsdale, 85251. www.tacosjaliscoscottsdale.com
