New Restaurant: Beaut Burger

Beaut Burger has come to town and they've brought some innovative vegan grub with them. This new eatery, owned by Ari Shapiro and Kerry Lane first opened in Tucson in June 2018. After enjoying major success with their epic eats they decided to expand to the Valley. And vegan or not, we all should be so thankful they have!

“Ever since we opened, we've had interest in different cities,” said Shapiro “We explored places like Austin and Denver, but realized we had a lot of fans in the Phoenix that were visiting us in Tucson.”

Beaut Burger officially opened up in Phoenix on February 1. They're serving up burgers with patties that are made with 100% unprocessed plants. The burgers have a good amount of protein and fiber and can be served on a slow-fermented bun. Pretty much everything on the menu is made in-house to ensure excellent quality and taste.

“We're not trying to mimic meat, we just want to recreate the all-America burger/fry/shake experience with plants only,” said Shapiro.

The most popular menu items are the B2 (burger with cheddar, ketchup, mustard, lettuce, onion and pickle), B4 (burger with griddled mushrooms, caramelized onions, Swiss and mayo), B6 (burger with caramelized green peppers and onions, chipotle mayo and tomato), the Rueben (tempeh, sauerkraut, Swiss, 1000 island on marble rye), and the Beer Battered Cauli Bites. They also make a killer coleslaw and are known for their hand-cut sweet potato fries.

Shapiro and Lane are no strangers to the restaurant business. Shapiro previously started a few small business like XOOM smoothies, Sparkroot Coffee and Falora Pizza and Lane trained as a macrobiotic vegan chef. Their combined experience, knowledge and passion for great food is a recipe for delicious success.

The name Beaut Burger was inspired by mid-century slang, short for beauty (as in “ain't she a beaut!”)

“The name Beaut perfectly matched how we feel about our food - lots of fresh veggies and a myriad of other plants,” said Shapiro. “We didn't want to be overtly vegan in our messaging, we respect all people's eating choices. We simply want to offer wonderful and healthy food to as many folks as possible.”

Beaut Burger is excited to be serving the Phoenix area and claim some of their biggest fans are omnivores. They are confident everybody will find something they love on their menu.
