Calling all you pizza lovers, so basically everyone...PAY ATTENTION!
After over 18 years in the pastry business, the legendary Tammie Coe is trying her hand at perfecting pies...pizza pies, that is. And if her pizzas are as good as her famous cupcakes and cookies, they're bound to be amazing.
Hot Daisy Pizza is slated to open to the public on Tuesday, January 19, on Roosevelt Row in Downtown Phoenix. Coe describes her pizzas as "New York style meets California and are made with the highest quality ingredients, made-from-scratch dough, fresh produce and artisan meats and cheeses. Her goal is to provide a new concept with a focus on the lunch crowd, where folks can have a quick bite to go without sacrificing quality.
Customers can expect to order at the counter and will have the option to hang out and enjoy it at a few tables set up outside or they can take it and go. The pizzas will come out hot and fresh after baking in an 800 degrees oven for about three minutes.
Pizzas are available whole or by the slice and and prices range from $3.50-$5 for a slice and $12-$18 for a whole pie. Notable menu items include a meat lovers pizza called “The Italian Stallion loaded with pepperoni, Italian sausage, and meatball with mozzarella, red onion and tomato sauce; the Just Fuggettabouitit Pie which is essentially a margherita pizza with the addition of pepperoni and truffle oil; and the Corny Baby-Elote Pie with roasted corn, cilantro, mozzarella, cotija and chipotle oil. Build-your-own pizzas are also available.
In addition to the pizzas there will also be a selection of salads and sandwiches. And of course, you will be able to find a variety of Coe's signature cakes and pastries all packaged to go. Coe encourages people to call ahead and take advantage of curbside pick-up since parking in the area is extremely limited.
