Brie’s Brunch for Babies

Now more than ever, we must care for the most vulnerable among us. What better way than turning your love of food into funds for an excellent cause?

On Sunday, August 16th, Herb Box pastry chef Monique Kauppi and her husband Christopher are hosting a fundraiser for the Phoenix Children’s Hospital Hardship Fund, in honor of their late daughter Aubrie, who was born with a rare genetic disorder which ended her sweet life after only three months.

The PCH Hardship Fund helps families who have a child with a serious medical condition by providing assistance with rent/mortgage, transportation, food and clothing, allowing families to devote all of their energy and spend their time with their little one. With the blessing and support of the Herb Box’s owner, Susan Wilcox, both the DC Ranch and 5th Avenue locations will donate 20% of their August 16th profits to the PCH Hardship fund. In additional to their usual summer take-out fare and Bar to Go offerings, Monique will be serving up some of her specialties including strawberry jalapeno jam on whole grain toast, sweet potato sugar muffins and chocolate chunk scones.

Dine in per CDC guidelines, call for takeout, order online for pick-up or order through Postmates from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM to help families get through stressful times. There will also be a surprise treat for guests while supplies last. If you wish to donate without ordering food or drinks, please see Christopher Kauppi’s fundraising page. All donations will go to Phoenix Children’s Hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Monique and Christopher hope to raise $2,000 in their sweet Brie’s name, but we can do better than that, Phoenix. See you on Sunday!
