Staycation: Omni Scottsdale Resort & Spa at Montelucia

I was so ready for an hour of pure bliss and I'd always heard that the Omni Scottsdale Resort & Spa at Montelucia had the best spa. This was finally my chance to experience it myself. Along with a full experience of the property, that included staying overnight, enjoying a cabana with friends, dining at the Tapas bar and breakfast before heading back over the pool.

The property is inspired by the exotic locale of Spain's Andalusia region and is reminiscent of a picturesque Andalusian village, featuring arching entryways, tranquil fountains and floral walkways. You'll feel transported to a different place, as you enjoy the view of Camelback Mountain and the gorgeous rooms. As I mentioned, I started in the spa. If you do book a spa treatment, you have full access to their spa all day. It's amazing in there and bound to create a sense of peace within your soul. You can do exercise classes, use the spa pool, sip cocktails and nibble on food, take a nap in the sleeping room, enjoy the cold plunge and so much more. So much more in fact, that I'm heading back there in a couple weeks to truly get the full spa experience.

You see, I had my deep tissue massage from Michael, which I still rave to my friends about but that concluded my time in the spa, as I headed over to check in to my room and get down to the pool. I think the trick is to plan the whole day at the spa or so I've been told. Back to Michael. This guy knows his stuff. Not that I get a ton of massages all over the place but I've never had a massage like the one he gave me and his knowledge on women's health and giving me stretches to help with aches and pains I've had for years was greatly appreciated. I could go on and on (I will if you ask me in person) but I'll spare you anymore details. Seriously though, if you haven't been to Joya yet, I highly suggest this be your next spa day!

The rooms are nice and spacious, my balcony lead out to a view of the adults only pool. On property they have the adults only pool and another pool for families or whomever wants to hang out there. We had a cabana booked at the other pool and spent all day there with friends and the kids. We snacked on some food and ordered a few cool drinks. Even if you didn't have a cabana, there is plenty of comfy seating and shade to enjoy.

At dinner time, my friend and I headed to the Tapas bar, where we were in for a treat! Our meal was prepared in front of us the entire time. Tapas are small and shareable, which meant that we were able to try a ton of different items. For breakfast we ate at Prado on the patio (the weather was still behaving) and enjoyed chilaquiles and smoked salmon. It was the best way to start the morning before heading back to the pool.

I would recommend this resort to those looking for a relaxing vacation and in need of some spa time but also those that are wanting a more romantic stay. If that's what you're in the mood for, then check out these stellar staycation deals going on:
