Staycation: JW Desert Ridge Marriott

You guys! The JW Desert Ridge Marriott just got even more amazing! I am totally digging the new cabanas they put in at one of the pools. I'm all about that #cabanalife and these are at the top of my list so far. Not only that but the food was spectacular and the room I stayed in was a place I never wanted to leave.

If you have never been to this resort, you are in for a treat. Let's talk about the pools because during the summer, that's what really matters. They have a large play pool, this would be ideal for families of all ages. Near that pool there is another smaller pool, usually this one is quieter and sometimes the younger children utilize this one. The other pool is where they have remodeled with day beds, cabanas and comfortable, plush new chairs, all of which you can book. The cabanas have misters, a fan, a nice TV, it comes with water and a tray of delicious goodies from nuts to warm chocolate chip cookies and fruit. I can now no longer go to this resort, unless I book something at this pool. It would be perfect for couples relaxing, girlfriend having a retreat or friends wanting to enjoy cabana time and even families (although we noticed the families would hang out at the cabana and eat and then head up to the bigger play pool). They also have the lazy river and waterslide that you can enjoy as well.

If you aren't out by the pool, there is plenty to do all around the gorgeous property from golf, to a new exercise space and classes, a kids club, large areas to hang out and grab drinks, big grassy areas for the kids to run around, a lake and stream where we fed the fish and it's not far from the Desert Ridge Mall, where you can shop and eat, if you desire to leave property.

We did not leave property to eat. It was even decent enough weather for us to hang out on the patio for dinner and breakfast. For dinner, I had the short rib, which was tender and flavorful but I also tried the steak, which was out of this world! You should definitely try one or both of those and start with the guacamole tower. Breakfast was equally as pleasing with a great breakfast buffet but a la carte is also an option. The smoked salmon bagel was the way for me to go.

Who do I think should stay here? They've done such a good job with this property that you could really be any kind of guest and have an amazing stay. If you're a family, the rooms are perfect to separate so that you don't have to go to bed when the kids do. Beds are super comfy and the bathrooms have a gorgeous tub to soak in. Plus, you can drop the kids off at camp or let them hang out at the pools. If you are looking for a more romantic stay, they've got you covered there too. Just book one of those daybeds or a pair of chairs and be prepared to relax. Or if you want to have a nice stay with your friends, grab an amazing cabana and hit those pina colados by the pool.

Here is the summer special they have going on right now!
