Local Mexican restaurant to build 125-foot burrito onsite

Macayo’s Mexican Restaurants are proud to announce their sponsorship of the Cinco de Mayo Phoenix Festival that takes place on Sunday, May 6th from noon-10:00 p.m. at 200 W. Washington St. in downtown Phoenix. This year is the celebration of the 25th anniversary of this cultural event.

“We’re thrilled to be a part of this wonderful Phoenix tradition which celebrates a culture that we hold so dear,” says, Sharisse Johnson, Macayo’s CEO. “As a part of Phoenix ourselves for many years, we appreciate the dedicate and effort it takes to become a local mainstay. That in itself is something to celebrate at this year’s Cinco de Mayo Phoenix Festival.”

While the restaurant will be onsite all day, at 3:00 p.m.festival attendees can watch Macayo’s team members as they begin building a 125-foot version of their popular Pollo Blanco Burro, a favorite on the restaurant’s menu. Regular-sized Pollo Blanco Burros, featuring shredded chicken, Mexican rice, black beans and baja sauce, will be available at all Macayo’s locations for $10.49 and from May 1-5, 2018, Macayo’s will donate $1 from each sale to the Arvizu Scholarships program, which benefits Grand Canyon University.
