Calling all beer lovers! If you’re down for quality food expertly paired with delicious craft beers, SanTan Brewing Company is the place for you. Located in the heart of Historic Downtown Chandler, this brewery is the perfect melting pot of quality food, great beers and a lively, friendly atmosphere.
Last week we had the amazing opportunity to attend the SanTan media dinner and take a brewery tour where we sampled dishes and craft beers from their diverse menu.
To start off the night we were greeted with a half pint of the StrataBlaster IPA, which is part of their featured Pilot Series Brew. We enjoyed our IPA’s as Anthony Caneechia, founder and brewmaster behind SanTan, told us all about the history behind the brewery and their different beers they brew onsite.
After the tour it was time to grub. Our first course consisted of a power salad (quinoa, chopped spinach, shaved red onion, scallions, black beans and orange chipotle vinaigrette) paired with a flavorful MoonJuice IPA. Delicious! Crafted with Galaxy and Nelson-Sauvin hops, the IPA emitted an aroma of peach, apricot and tropical fruit.
Moving on to the second course, and my personal favorite. We were served a perfect slice of the 3 cheese Italian blend, pesto chicken pizza paired with a HefeWeizen. The HefeWeizen has always been one of my favorite brews by SanTan and the pizza pairing was frosting on the cake.
The third course was where the party really started. Delicious and tender pork carnitas enchiladas, topped with cotija cheese, green chile cream sauce, pico de gallo and a fried egg. Can you say, yes please?! Let’s not forget the tasty Devil’s Ale that accompanied it. The 5.5% brew crafted with Cascade, Centennial and Simcoe hops, provided aromatic pine and citrus flavors and is best paired with sharp cheeses.
Our final drink of the night was the Winter Warmer, SanTan’s newest seasonal brew, that will be released the week of Thanksgiving. We were lucky enough to get a first taste of the strong ale and it did not disappoint. Spiced with 10 lbs of fresh ginger and served with house made ginger snap cookies, the Winter Warmer is the perfect dessert beer.
